Moses Sumney Details 'Black in Deep Red, 2014' EP, Shares New Song
Just shy of a year on from sharing his stunning full-length debut Aromanticism, Moses Sumney has lifted the curtain on an EP of new material.

Titled Black in Deep Red, 2014, the three-track effort is set to arrive August 10 through Jagjaguwar. The EP's title and artwork, seen above, appear to reference the Mark Rothko painting "Black in Deep Red, 1957."

Today, Sumney premiered the EP's closing track "Rank & File" on Annie Mac's show on BBC Radio 1. The song, accompanied by visuals of a green army man slowly melting, can be heard below.

Sumney spoke about Black in Deep Red, 2014 to the Wall Street Journal late last week. On the EP's subject matter, he told the publication, "'Do we have power?' is the key question. Or 'Who has power?' Or 'What is the nature of power?'"

Early last month, Sumney cancelled his set at Montreal Jazz Fest after organizers defended controversial musical SLĀV. The festival then cancelled all remaining performances.

Sumney also recently enlisted James Blake, Sufjan Stevens and Alex Isley to rework his track "Make Out in My Car" for an EP that arrived in May.
