Published Apr 27, 2016Earlier this year, North by Northeast revealed that it would be switching up the structure of the long-running Toronto festival for 2016. The upcoming edition will feature outdoor performances at a headlining stage in the Port Lands, as well as a series of club shows.
Now, organizers have unveiled some of the artists who will be gracing that outdoor stage. The first day on June 17 will boast performances from Ghostface Killah, Shamir, Daniel Caesar and Mick Jenkins. The following day (June 18), Father John Misty, Mother Mother, Dan Mangan, the Zolas, and the Devin Cuddy Band featuring special guest Jim Cuddy will perform on that same new stage.
Adding to the previously announced club shows lineup, the Motorleague, Adam Baldwin, Birds of Bellwoods and Jesse Mac Cormack will also be entertaining indoor crowds over the course of the festival.
An Indigenous music showcase has also been scheduled, which will bring Stevie Salas and Bernard Fowler's project the IMF's, Shawnee, Mariam and DJ Shub to the Great Hall.
