Published Aug 19, 2013On the heels of this year's Kunst LP, German industrial mainstays KMFDM have announced they'll reissue their Opium and WWIII albums in the fall. The re-releases are set to arrive on CD and digitally October 22 through Metropolis Records, just in time for a North American fall tour.
Originally issued in a limited cassette run in 1984, Opium was KMFDM's debut release. As pointed out in a press release, leader Sascha Konietzko had previously told The Plague that the 10 song set was "like a demo, made under the most horrid conditions with absolutely no money at all." A CD edition had previously been issued in 2002 via First World Music/KMFDM Records.
WWIII was first delivered back in 2003 via Sanctuary and is described as "a very upfront and confrontational attack on George W. Bush's presidency and his abuse of politics." This latest edition features the same run-order as the earlier pressing, which Exclaim! had described as showcasing "stompy good beats and power chord mayhem."
The group's North American tour, meanwhile, kicks off in Vancouver on October 20, and features an additional Canadian stop in Toronto. You can see the details down below.
