Published Jul 13, 2015Following last month's tragic mass shooting that left nine dead at the hands of a white supremacist, Americans are finally starting to question the validity of proudly posting the Confederate flag. While some claim its meant to honour the fallen soldiers in the American civil war, many consider it to be a racist symbol of the slave trade. Despite that painful history, however, a love of the Confederate flag has inspired a sure-to-be wretched new single from Southern-fried rock dorks Ted Nugent and Kid Rock.
The Nuge and the Kid have announced plans to release a brand new, pro-Confederate flag butt rock anthem called "Kiss My Rebel Ass." The ass talk started when Kid Rock famously told anti-Confederate flag concertgoers to kiss his ass, at which point Ted Nugent expressed his support.
"When you get a text from the Nuge, you know you've done something right," Kid Rock told WWJ Newsradio 950 [via Blabbermouth]. He also said that the song is "a love letter to the South and a middle finger to the PC establishment."
Of course, Nugent wouldn't miss an opportunity to drop some rockisms, saying, "Rock 'n' roll ain't supposed to be nice — it's supposed to hit you upside the head with a tire iron, and that is exactly what this song does."
Adding to the overbearing patriotic overtones, all proceeds from "Kiss My Rebel Ass" will be donated to the American Freedom Party. The song will go live on both musician's websites on July 17. And if either of them are reading this, they're more than welcome to use our artwork for the single.
UPDATE: Fortunately for the sake of human decency, the story of Kid Rock and Ted Nugent's ass-kissing anthem is a hoax. Though WWJ Newsradio 950 is a real radio station, the quotes from the two artists were fabricated by a fake news site called National Report. We apologize for getting your hopes up/down about the new song "Kiss My Rebel Ass," though we won't be surprised if Ted Nugent or Kid Rock do end up releasing something with very similar themes.
