Published Oct 18, 2016Well, we had a good run but it's safe to say that the so-called "golden age of television" is officially over. After all, some network execs have just announced plans to turn the mobile game Candy Crush into a real-life game show.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS has ordered a live-action reality show called Candy Crush Saga straight to series.
The show was created by Matt Kunitz, who previously brought us the absurd programs Fear Factor and Wipeout.
In Candy Crush Saga, contestants will compete on an enormous interactive game board that utilizes next-generation technology.
"The Candy Crush franchise lends itself perfectly to the kind of larger-than-life, physical game shows that I love to produce and CBS is the perfect home for it," Kunitz said. "As a Candy Crush Saga player myself, I am excited to amp up the action and visuals in our huge Candy Crush Arena."
R.I.P. TV. You had a good run.
